Jae Miah - Forget About Him (Single)
At the top of the week, I was introduced to Jae Miah through her newest single titled “Forget About Him.” It came across my IG feed and instantly caught my eye due to the cover art that took inspiration from the Monica Bellucci featured film “Malena,” where within seconds of hearing the ballad, it had my attention. You can listen to her heart pouring out in the track, and its passionate resonance throughout the single, making it a must-hear for listeners of the R&B sound.
Jae Miah begins this heartfelt tale by explaining she’s the reason behind the words for his songs, the voice you hear when he sings & the inspirational drive to his craft. He sorrows on the fact that she’s moved on from him, as Jae doubles down on the fact that he put himself in the position for it to happen. Thinking that he was irreplaceable has caught up to him, she realizes that if he’s not going to step up, then what’s the point of keeping him? She concludes the record with an audio of Cher & Jane Pauley infamous interview where Cher delivers an empowerment quote of women not needing a man to be successful, which hits the head on the harrowing narrative sung by Jae Miah. The record is a breath of fresh air to begin admiring the vocal talents of Jae Miah, who serenades a divine record beautifully. R&B is alive and well when artists of this caliber are welcoming their stories to the art and making fans in the process; Jae will be at the forefront of the craft in no time, and we can’t wait to see it happen.
It’s no surprise that Jae Miah got some new fans over on this side, we’re excited to see what the future holds for such a talented artist and I’m sure her fansbase is going to grow astronomically in due time.
