Angel Cintron - Slide (Reimagined) (Single)

Everyone’s favorite songbird is back with another reimagination to a standout record of hers. This time around, its “Slide” from her latest EP & once more, she has us torn over which version is better cause stripped down or no, the soul remains but personally, I’m gravitating more towards this reimagination as we get to hear more of her skills as a instrumentalist, particularly the strings. If you know anything about Angel, you know she’s a certified violinist & whenever she’s gliding that now along those strings, it’s like she’s snipping the ones attached to our hearts, as if her soaringly soulful vocals weren’t already yanking at them. Even the acoustics on this record are so full of bliss. 

As previously stated, this is one of the best records off her “Kissing With Your Eyes Open” EP, next to “Wonder”, which also recently found itself accompanied by a music video. Pretty soon we’ll also get the visual treatment for this but for now, the single itself will do. If you need anymore background on the record itself, I suggest you go to her YouTube channel & watch the making of this record. Then afterwards, I’d advised you to listen to both back to back to see which one fits your fancy. It always blows me away how she’s able to make these new versions of her songs sound as great if not better than the original & if you’re one of the lucky ones who’ve heard this record live as well then you’re just spoiled at this point. 

At this point, with the reimagined version of “Blue Lights” as well, I’d say Angel oughta just bless us with an EP of fan favorites or even her favorites out of her catalog thus far, all reimagined. That way people can really get the full Angel Cintron experience. Musically, she’s one of the most inclined artists out there & with every release, she only seems to inch further up that incline. God bless you Angel, you’re literally a Godsend!
