D'Shaun & Benji -MDNGHT (EP)

They don’t call them RYLTY for nothing, these two rocking their regalia so blindingly bright on these 4 records that the stars are gazing at them. You can call it a bit of an addendum to “Sincerely D’Shaun II” as the production on both go hand in hand, clearly due to his work on two of the standout cuts on that album for me personally with “AGENDA” & “MIDAS”. But as Benji kept expressing to D’Shaun, those records were so amazing to him that he felt they should build on the spacey, galaxial vibes they emitted so they locked in & did just that with these wavily jovial cuts here! This tape here is like a journey throughout a typical night for him. He’s prepping for it with the opener “TRY ME”. He’s already achieved enough thus far in this game to deserve a little leisurely time to splurge those 10 racks burning a hole in his pocket. He’s been looking for a reason to enjoy these fruits of his labor so please try him but don’t try him if he’s just out here trying to enjoy life. Thank God he don’t have anyone he can think of who’d attempt to, otherwise, the night would end before it started but by the grace of God, the night is looking to be a good one.

This is “THE LIFE” for him. He knows that as soon as he touches down at his destination. It’s like he pulled up to the club in a spaceship only to invite everyone from in there, into it. I’m sure we all know that feeling, like as soon as you showed up, you were immediately faded, maybe even crossfaded, telling all your boys how much you love them cause what’s the point in celebrating life if it’s only a party of one? The entire family needs to get in on this fun! After enough drinks have entered his system, it’s time for him to breakaway from the clique to holler at lil mama from across the dance floor. He’d been admiring her from afar, just waiting for the right time to slide in & let her know what’s up. She don’t gotta bum drinks or anything off anyone, so as long as he’s up in this bitch. Needless to say, he just might wind up in this bitch he keep playing his cards this right. Closing out the night with shorty secured, the two leave the function & zip their way out of planet Earth, so as to not be distracted by anything other than her, this fine specimen who’s so otherworldly, a literal gift from God. Nothing other than a woman can have a man so enamored.

It’s only right to close out this EP with a feature from DeShaun Jay, after what they gifted us with on “VirgoSZN”. The fact that “GOD’S GIFT” was the first piece of this puzzle should give you all the more reason to be celebratory cause if he’s ending it with this, then we might be in for another VirgoSZN. I know D’Shaun is only getting started with his musical cavalcade for the year!
