Hoodlum & Mike Dimes - Megan (Single)

Following their collaboration on Mike Dimes' "Texas Boy" album in June, the anticipation for another joint effort from the two San Antonians was high. Fulfilling expectations, Hoodlum, released his single "Coupe Still Orange," that began building anticipation for his upcoming album then dreams turned into reality with the release of Hood & Mike Dimes second titled "Megan," garnered a spectacle of fans towards streaming platforms and YouTube to propel their second record to date to echelon heights.

Backed by the production of Big Tex Johnny, Hoodlum kicks off the track with a guttural tone that resonates throughout the record. His double-cupped raps and street dreams intertwine seamlessly, and the intensity of each bar intensifies as you delve deeper into the intricate wordplay.

“Two phone booming i’ma make it, shit I been good like Megan, got rocks in the chain like Regan”

Slumped on the production, Hoodlum places the icing on the record right before Mike Dimes emerges in victorious fashion speed racing laps around the competition in cataclysmic speed, dishing out a closing that ends subtly but with his point coming across sharply. Block bleeding the trap with the vicious flow, Mike Dimes floods aggression in the record, and topping off the collaboration between Hoodlum and Mike Dimes seems to be bringing a powerful energy to the record, leaving room for anticipation of future collaborations. It wouldn’t be a Hoodlum release without a visual being directed by Ace The Shooter, where both artists can be seen on the Southside streets with whips and clips in the surroundings to serve another successful video drop.

After releasing the record, days later, Hoodlum announced he’d be joining Mike Dimes on the Texas leg of his “Do Not Disturb” tour, so hopefully, we get to see the song performed by the duo. I would recommend you start getting tickets if you haven’t yet; it’s going to be a show you don’t want to miss.
