Wynne - Catalyst II (Single)

2022 was a formidable year for Portland’s own Wynne, who has dominated the scene with her ill-stricken releases. Her singles delivered a bevy of memorable lines, while her visuals are praised for reflecting her boastful energy & cunning character in a prominent manner. Wynne was already seeking to start 2023 off with a bang & would be doing so by delivering the sequel to her classic release, “Catalyst.” The single would continue to bombard her name in the echelon scales of hip-hop and showcase her powerhouse ability to take no breaks & keeping her feet firmly on the gas. It has been about six years since Wynne first appeared in the music limelight with her successful predecessor. The quintessential single would solidify her status as the goat among emcees and prepare her for the years ahead of her eminent career. Still, even then, there are those sleeping on her talent, so instead of moving on from them, Wynne is bashing alarm clocks to get their asses awake and preparing them to start paying close attention to her victorious reign.

“Still pushing a whip with a eight track in it. I'm finally getting playoff minutes. See 'em hosting a séance to rap on beats I killed, they shouldn't prey on victims”

While delivering this sensational release, Wynne couldn’t let it go without featuring a visual for it; she steadily glides and rides through an impressive array of wordplay and similes throughout the record while the video does an impressive job of showcasing her energetic performance. I didn’t expect anything less than greatness from Wynee, and still, she raised the bars up (literally) a few notches where her competition will have to jump and reach for it. Wynne is explosive throughout the record but then again, when isn’t she? She starts with combative raps while the prestigious pen she wields writes this lyrical wave of illustrious efforts. When it comes to artists on who has the best basketball references, Wynne is right at the top of the charts with it; I’m going to say there is no one hotter than her when it comes to the testimonials of basketball players like her; if you disagree, go and argue with your mother, not me. The visual goes off with amazing precision, just like the record, and features a lovely cameo with Wynne & her manager being interviewed by Brooke Olzendam inside the Moda Center. It’s a great look to see Wynne’s glow shining brighter with each release, and this one has already shot up as our favorite for the month, among many others.

“Come on, I get DM's from all of your boyfriends. They slide in like shoes with no lace on. To take me on a trip, fuck me on the beach, and then hit the pool like Draymond.”

Fresh off her triple-double in the industry and Wynne is gearing up to have another successful year in the league; just watch and continue to support from the stands as she prepares to take home the championship gold this year and starts to see more recognition pile on throughout her 23-24 season.
