8RO8 feat THANKQ & Devin Cheff - Bretman Rock Freestyle (Single)

At the top of the week, I was browsing through Twitter when I came across this small clip of a recently released visual from Hawaii artist 8RO8 titled “Bretman Rock Freestyle,” which caught my attention due to the preeminent intensity of the lyricism coming from the short clip that I could only imagine what the full drop had in store for me. Accompanied by two featured verses from THANKQ & Devin Cheff, the single for the release was dropped back at the beginning of September, while the visual was the latest offering to continue pushing the record’s success. The video flourishes with a predominant creative setup that is above par with most art being produced out, which is visually showcasing these three emcees spitting a frenzy of raps that are estimable and precise with each swift in their own technique where I couldn’t go on another day without showing it on the site for our viewership to start taking notice.

In a black & white aesthetic, the video opens up to 8RO8 in his Walter White attire, cutting up in the kitchen and flexing with a cleaver in hand that’s sharp like his lyrics. Keeping the flow running up with intense energy and rhythm, 8RO8 is applying deep pressure on the production and remains to be potent with an incredible level of charisma that bleeds out in the release. Keeping grips on the pulse of the record, THANKQ takes the reins and swiftly goes off on a lyrical tangent while the visuals become even more striking in the mix. Floating dollar bills take over his aura while he continues to drum up his verses in an illustrious fashion that then flows down back to 8RO8’s hook before anchoring the joint with Devin Cheff’s verse. Not slowing down one second, Devin picks up right where it was left off and doesn’t let it cool back down until he’s done devouring the rest of the beat. Darting off at full speed in the remaining minutes of the record, Devin exits out this wild release with an insane verse that instantly got me making the same face Jay-Z gave Timberland when he first heard the beat for “Dirt Off My Shoulders.” I’ve immediately become new fans of all three emcees and Jakob Soto-Bauwens, whose direction for the video made this pop out for me and showcased a different world of creativity outside the norm.

Best believe I’m going to be on the hunt for future releases from all three artists, I’ve seen there all have a fair share of records in their catalogs that I’ll surely be checking out in the meantime, but we highly recommend getting familiar with them as we did by checking out both the video & single here while sharing it around on all social media avenues.
