Sasa Juste - Keys To The Throne (EP)
During the weekend, I came across this EP from Brooklyn native Sasa Juste titled “Keys To The Throne,” which intrigued me at first glance due to the aesthetic of the cover art and because of the unfamiliarity I had about her sound which I felt like I was going to love. I was curious for sure and decided to give my time to check out the project, which I got to say drew me in immediately from the intro record alone to where the rest of the project came flourishing with promise. Ain’t no comparison, that’s for sure; Sasa Juste is a one-of-a-kind artist who dazzles in the art of mystery and prestigious wordplays; she’s let her words fall like rain while parading in this illustrious energy that genuinely makes you feel relaxed and at peace listening to her grace come out in these five records.
As mentioned before, the intro track “Stream Of Thought” had me hooked since it started rocking with this cadence of wonderment from the production to where once Sasa started spitting, it was up from there. Dead presidents in her possession is what she’s about; Sasa lays in with her wit and mannerism in the record being so suave, which only gravitate to the listeners to be more connected with her. Her follow-up record, “Feelings,” has her slowing down the tone but not leaving a stride of the essence behind. She follows over to the rhyming structure while singing to the heavens, accompanied by her feature for the record, Connie Diiamond, to set the mood for the next release. “Throne” has a bit more uptempo than the last record, which has us shaking our hips to the dance floor, where she explains her position on the throne and unlocks the desires that come with it. Poetry rocking with how she indulges into her come up that got her a seat at the highest level of the room. Her sensual side plays an intimate part in the chorus, where her feature Mo Dubb follows along by sharing his side of the mix, making it a sensational number on the project. Keeping herself as the main thought in his head, Sasa sees that he’s got “Control” over her & working his magic to fulfill her wildest fantasies. Her body is a temple, and he’s exploring the beauty of it all; his speed & his touch is yearning for her delight, and she goes with the motion to be in the moment for this experience. It all shifts to the outro record, “My Way,” which talks about the standpoint in her life currently. She doesn’t have too many friends around, not feeling happiness in certain things but still basking in the things that make her whole. She has gone through a lot of growth in her life that she knows has gotten her to where she resides. Success isn’t a clear-cut journey; sometimes, we have to go through a lot of hurt and loss just to see a win on the other side; she knows her way is the only way; it got her this far why not continue to go further?
I come across many new artists that get my attention, but man Sasa Juste is something special. I enjoyed this album very much and know I will continue rocking with it and any future art she drops. I highly recommend you check out this EP here while sharing it around on all social media avenues.
