A$$phat & Quentin Heartz - Phatheartz >_< (EP)

During the weekend, we were gifted with a submission in our email of the collaborative project between A$$phat & Quentin Heartz titled “phatheartz,” where both distinctive artists join forces to share their eccentric sounds and nature in a 4-track EP that quickly became one of our favorite pieces to enjoy this month. I appreciate these two artists with every ounce of my being; they are two wholesome talents that share a bit of themselves in the art they make. You may view it as odd or different, but that’s what is great about it, they love to pour that uniqueness into their music that has such a significant following once you give it a chance.

Setting the project in the clouds with “380 Baby <3”, both artists come shining with superlative styles rocking heavy with pleasantry sounds, making it an intro that prepares you for the rest of the project. Like Wayne, these guys like their styrofoam cup “Easter Pink,” which shifts into a dreamy joint accompanied by $us Valentino that continues their quest to be fully immersed with their rarity nature. They adjust the sample from the Surf Mesa version of “ily” to “Jugged U,” showcasing their pristine power to make things push forward with their eminent sound. I enjoyed their interpretation, and I can see it pop off the more people get involved in the EP. Their outro record, “Come Thru,” became my favorite of the four. It’s hard to say since I’m invested in all the tracks already, but man, if this doesn’t make you catch a vibe or two with your significant other getting momentum throughout your listening experience, then you might be lost in the world.

I hope to see a few visuals from the project make their way out; they're both mysterious with releases, so it could come unexpectedly. I also noticed they will perform along with Lil Bootycall, Dreamiecloud, WTFbrandon & more in San Antonio on October 21st, so make sure you attend to see those performances.
