Eastside Fish & Sage - 3Pc Fish (EP)
As mentioned in our last episode of Board AF with Reek & Sage, Sage talked about a collaborative project with Eastside Fish that was already in the works, which we could be seeing surface in the next upcoming weeks. Being on point with his prediction, it didn’t take long to come since earlier in the week, Eastside Fish dropped his three-pack EP titled “3Pc Fish” with production from Sage that instantly became a fan favorite in the few days it’s been out. It’s only three tracks, but it’s hitting harder than any of your favorite rapper’s catalog; with boastful energy from Eastside Fish’s pen to Sage’s adaptability to transfer his unique sound to match the intensity of Fish’s skill set, it easy to see why this release is a highlight for the month leading into the next.
They keep telling Fish to “Go In,” whether it be the chick he’s piping down or the masses calling him the best rapper out here. Big boss status is his state of mind; he’s on the grind so that he can put you out of work. Fish is simply separating himself from the novice in this record; he’s Tom Brady with the hard work while you are just a rookie struggling in the pocket like Jalen Hurts. Ain’t nothing new here from Fish; he’s combative with the bars, which is why this shit comes easy for him. It’s also the only release with a visual to accompany the drop. It has Fish in a relaxed state with a dime piece on his side while he’s posted with members of The Tree Team in building a storyline with the viewing while the color blue stays poking out the frame. His next record, titled “Honey Boo Boo,” sounds like it was conducted out on the west coast, which brings out that LA essence that you would hear in a Dom K or Nip record. Let it not be mistaken, though, this is a Fish joint, and it’s tailored for the ladies. He’s plastered his mackin on the track right out the gate on telling you what kind of women attracts his eyes. He’s not disrespectful with his need for a companion; he’s more of a gentleman when it comes to the wordplay, which you can see why many women are aching to get a chance to swim with Fish. His last record, “Someone Else,” has him pressed vibrantly with this sample. He doesn’t waste time speaking on his pimpin, where he’s got too many women to choose from, and it takes his toll on selecting the right one for him. This art is a gift and a curse that never goes away; he can’t be your Superman; that’s a job for someone else, shorty. He’s being real from the jump, and I’m sure you can respect the honesty. This EP is another incredible joint from Fish; since his joining with The Tree Team, he’s able to see a new set of fans that are matched together with his existing fans, and it’s working wonders for him to continue building the fanbase that supports him to achieving greatness & beyond.
As mentioned before, he does have a visual out for his intro record, but I’m sure more could be in the works, especially for future releases. If you are not hipped to Eastside Fish yet, you need to get out of the hole you’ve been in and get to noticing asap.
