Mike Dimes - In Dimes We Trust (Album)

After the riveting response we got back from our viewership last month when we featured Mike Dimes on the page, we were hoping to double down with a new release to keep the awareness going for the San Antonio native. The situation happened to work out in our favor where instead of sharing a new single to existing fans, we now have a whole project to continue introducing more listeners to his zealous sound. The album titled “In Dimes We Trust” comes after Mike's intimate listening party in his hometown of San Antonio, where days before, a billboard was seen near the Alamodome promoting the upcoming project. He then shared the cover art with the tracklist surfacing simultaneously to help build traction before the initial release date. Just about everyone on our timeline was prepared to tune in at 11 pm CST on DSPs yesterday night to check-in & hear the album in its entirety before the next day which I can say confidently that I followed suit to make sure a review was done for him promptly to share during his release date.

The intro starts with his previously released single “Home,” which is an excellent way to begin the project. He gives listeners a song they're familiar with, so when they get to an unreleased track, the feeling of a surprise takeover. Sure enough, that’s precisely what happens here when you get to playing “Religion,” which doesn’t give you any time to prepare before that Lang Father production goes off seconds in the track. It brushes off nicely with the DJ scratching from the intro of “Jiggalo” that creates this sped-up trap feeling with Mike able to bully up the beat with raps that showcases his high-spirited style. Back-to-back tracks with a production inspired by Triple 6, Mike Dimes does well channeling his inner Chad Butler with dishing out the street politics while keeping the money & women on top of his psyche. From going hard on a multitude of tracks on this album, he slows down the pace a bit when entering the definitive record, “Snow White.” Mike Dimes divulges into the hard white substance talk in the track, which is a different mood to capture, yet he does it perfectly without baring out harsh vocals but a soft tempo voice that plugs in nicely in the mix. He runs rabid through the rest of the releases and then tops it off by asking, “Who Is Mike Dimes?” for the outro. The championship sound is ringing throughout this valiant release, where Mike knows he reached the finish line. While this race is victorious for him now, he knows there are more obstacles to overcome in his journey but is okay with celebrating these recent wins for now.

Overachieved with greatness at the helm, Mike Dimes is turning 2022 to be one of his most standout years so far. He now has a project with many outlets giving him deserved accolades for his success. He’s also heading off on a Texas tour soon and placed on the upcoming Rolling Loud Festival. It’s only the third month of the year but expect more spontaneous surprises to happen for Mike Dimes moving forward. Be sure to check out the album here while sharing it around on all social media platforms.
