xoDEADHOMIE - Limitless (Video)
The man behind xoDEADHOMIE is one of the most realest people within this industry of ours. His vulnerability as well as versatility continues to inspire me personally but I for one love when he gets back on his $inik shit to remind people just where the fuck he comes from. You know whenever he’s on his street shit that he’s tapping back into that survival mode he had to maintain so as to make it out of that lifestyle & unfortunately, a lot of people don’t wanna see you make it out of these environments we’ve been so accustomed to but although he’s no longer running rampant in these streets, if you test him, he can activate that side of him real quick cause it never left him, it’s all a part of who he is & I’m glad whenever he speaks on it cause it never comes off as glorification.
With J Allan on the production, you already know it’s gonna be a banger, especially if you’re aware of just how many great songs these two have collaborated on. Whenever our favorite dead homie is in his MC bag, he just absolutely obliterates anything in his sight & if you know anything about his $inik days then you’re aware of his battle rap past, which explains why he’s barring out so crazily throughout the entirety of this record. Not only that but he’s also throwing a little storytelling in there, as well as some slight introspection. I also love that he never tries to hide his addictions, he starts off popping the pill but in this sense, it’s more so like the Matrix pills, which makes even more sense with how warped this visuals are.
I gotta say, finally seeing the good brother get his flowers by the good people over at Viewz is beautiful to see cause ever since “Middle Class Burnout”, his been on quite the tear musically, I mean c’mon, there’s so much music under different monikers that deserves & warrants revisitation. The replay value on a lot of his records is astounding & on his latest “They Want Me Dead” album, there’s so many more beautiful records for us to live with & demand visuals for cause I’m sure he’s not done shooting visuals for the album, which I also have to point out cause, even his visuals have improved vastly. It’s safe to say it’s gonna be another massive year for xo & we can expect to see him incessantly continue to supply us with music speaking on all he knows, his life & his emotions, his pain.
