Linda Sol - That Was Then, But This Is Now (Video)

Browsing through our Instagram timeline earlier this week, we came across a clip showing the prominent appearance of Chi-town emcee Linda Sol, where the introduction to her music truly made us instant fans of her music. The clip was from her latest release, which was a visual to her record “That Was Then, But This Is Now” off her September EP “Growing Pains,” that’ve gotten to be more familiar with in these last 48 hours. The video has her posted at Jackson Station on the red line, showing her skillful mannerism and wordsmith ability induced with melodic & cunning artistry, displaying her as an artist to begin paying close attention to immediately.

Production is on point; it’s tough with boastful energy that helps Linda Sol begin to vent her discomfort with people seeing her past self when looking at her. Things changed, and people will, too; Linda speaks on her come-up being a struggle but now getting to celebrate the wins of her days. Yet some mistakes will trickle in, but she brushes it off to pay them no mind. Seeing her blessing and pay triple in numbers didn’t all get here by surprise; hard work and dedication to get past the haters did; she effortlessly makes it look so easy, but when you bet on yourself at all costs, then it becomes a possible achievement. Linda Sol is unique with the rhymes and how witty she can be when expressing her emotional state on wax; it’s one of the standout things that caught my attention, and throughout her recent tape, it’s something that gets shown a lot. The direction taken by Francisco Soriano to make the video and record feel alike is superb; he took a lot of great notions that made the record hot and used them for the visual, which made it a win-win for new listeners to be that much more engaged with Linda Sol.

Best believe we’ll be looking to add more of Linda Sol's music on our site in the future. Still, we want to give her a proper introduction to our fanbase in hopes she starts seeing more attention come her way. Check out the release here while sharing it on all social media avenues.
