Chip The Ripper - This For That (Single)
After reverting to his original name earlier in the year, Chip Tha Ripper has been delivering on various releases. Starting with his EP, “Bonfire,” released back in February, to dropping off a bevy of singles going hand to hand with visuals throughout the year for records like “Interior Crocodile Alligator” & “Don’t You See I’m On The Phone?!” which I've seen a vast amount of plays & views in the last few months. His latest single, titled “This For That,” which first appeared as a preview on his IG, had many fans anticipating to hear the finished product, which luckily they didn’t have too long since on Black Friday, he released the whole track that had many existing fans racing to DSPs to hear it in its entirely and immediately adding it to the succession of releases Chip Tha Ripper has had so far in the year.
Walking into the record with his signature laid-back vocals, Chip Tha Ripper explains his effort if not being able to sell you something if you approach him less than what the product is worth. You need to move on if you’re with the bullshit because Chip is bout the paper chase, so if it ain’t moving, he ain’t either. He’s cautious when speaking with you; he doesn’t know if you are a rat or snitch, but no need to worry. He’s seen too many red flags to continue conversating with you, so excuse him, sucka; I mean, brother, if you don’t get the reference, then walk your sorry ass away from here. One of the standout moments of the release is that the beat steadily rides through the track with this melodic feel. Right in the middle of it, Chip hits you with some vigorous energy in the mix that gets the beat changing with the more aggression Chip puts on it, and it definitely catches you off guard the first time around. Still, when you set the record in rotation again, it becomes your favorite part of the single. Chip hasn’t lost a touch of his sound or style; he’s shown he’s more resilient than ever, still leagues ahead of your favorite artist, which is why I stuck to his music for so long; there is never a dull moment whenever you come across new music from Chip Tha Ripper.
