Samaria - Didn't Start With You (EP)

Bay Area’s own Samaria is back with a new EP & she’s got a lot to say throughout these numbers. Opening up with a stern statement to ex lovers on “Can’t Fix This”, she explains how hating her for the relationship not working, after all begging, crying, pleading didn’t work, is not gonna magically make her feel bad for leaving you & doing what’s best for her, in fact, it’s just gonna damage things further than they’ve already been. She didn’t want this to end as ugly as it did, she did all she could to move on amicably but this is what happens when our emotions get the best of us & we can no longer regulate them. Not her problem though. She believes they “Still Got 4ever” to hopefully make this work but that push & pull they got going on is only further straining the relationship. Perhaps she just misses what they used to have.

She’d rather just have him “Out The Way” cause clearly he has other options he’d rather entertain than love & care for the one person who’s been holding him down all this time. If she’s not what he wants or needs then she’d rather just get out of his way & let him do him. Unfortunately, in her doing so, he can’t seem to deal with the fact that she’s out there seemingly playing the field but all is fair in love & war. He can’t be upset with her for seeing what other options are out there for her as well since he wanna treat her like just another. The acoustics on “Shady Hills” coupled with her vocals & sentiments shared are so very poignant on this number, dedicated to the place he’d rather reside, continuously hurling that shade towards her when he’s the one in the wrong.

Now that she’s single, it’s time to give in to the “Temptations” surrounding her. It’s not really what she’s used to but God, there’s just too many testing her. She should’ve known better though, known that these games too have consequences & giving in just hasn’t yielded the results she’d been hoping for. This love life of ours is nothing but pure “Insanity”. Still she’s having to deal with exes who just can’t get the hint that she’s no longer interested & by God is she finally losing all her patience trying to move forward with her life. Tone Stith is the voice on the other end of the line she’s pretending she no longer cares for but he sees right through her bluff & the two go back & forth once more to prove to one another that they still very much care, otherwise they wouldn’t be investing so much time in this push & pull cycle of toxicity.
