Monk Vision Entertainment - Hey, Glad You Made It! (EP)
Your favorite hip-hop collective, Monk Vision Entertainment, is back with a new EP titled “Hey! Glad You Made it!”. MVE is fresh off promoting their recent AR Figurine, which is one of the coolest & creative merch ideas to give to their fans to enjoy a very personable item from the group. At the same time, the group showcased their ability not only to be one of the most sought-after collectives in Texas but also the most hardworking, where they were able to construct some tracks in the process to get you rocking with their new versatile sound. The 5-track EP is in a different direction from their predecessor release, “Static,” which is always a good thing to see since they are taking their artistry outside the box and seeing what works; and if you ask me, it does very much.
The intro record titled “Faces” reminds me of something you would hear from the Neptunes back in the 2000s, but this is Monk Vision in 2022, so they let the sparks fly throughout the release by holding down the production with melodic ease and rapping at the finest caliber. The following joint titled “How High” is going to be a club banger for sure; both hands in the air trying to touch a cloud to see how high up in the sky you get, is the vibe that I’m getting from the record. Monk Vision came with the futuristic melody rump shaker in this track that will surely be your ladies' favorite track of the year. “I Heard” is just a bop, no doubt; it sounds like something you would hear in a venue in the year 3030. MVE never takes away from supplying each record off the EP with prominent verses over a new sound, but the good old fashion raps we’ve come to love from the group spit in such a suave manner you can see why they're the hottest group out right now. You know we can’t have a Monk project without a bit of chaos in the mix, and that’s what we get on the next track titled “Texas.” Everything is better and bigger in Texas, and MVE here represents it to the fullest by swanging lane to lane with charisma and double cupping the wordplay with such angst that it got us tipping slow to the record while thrashing in the process. The bonus record titled “Davey Jones” is an excellent sendoff because it felt like this isn’t an ending but a look into the future for Monk Vision Entertainment. Their last album, “Static,” was an insane release and is still revered as one of the most significant surprise projects this year, so I think we might be hearing a bit of a preview for their next album. I’m sure announcements will be made accordingly before the new year starts, so I stayed glued to their socials in the meanwhile.
As I mentioned before, Monk Vision Entertainment gave us an incredible album in the middle of the year and now an EP to go along with the continued success they’ve seen lately. I’m telling you now; these guys will be in a bigger spot this time next year. If you are not hip to MVE, then it’s time you get started and get to check out their latest EP here while sharing it around on all social media avenues.
