Quico - Baaaad2thebone (Single)

At the top of December, Quico had dropped his third single of the year titled “Baaad2thebone,” which delivered a bit more aggression than his previous joints but kept in the same realm of not over-exceeding the tempo in his vocals and keeping it perfected with the melancholy demeanor. To capitalize on the record's release on the first day of 2022, Quico decided to drop the visual for it shot by Playground Media Co with background edits made by josexhouston to provide an experimental viewing to go along with a vivid listening experience. 

Off first listen, it sounded by definition of the production like he’s mixing back in with his previous sound. However, instead, he keeps it moving with the vocals that mimic a calm manner that steady incline him to continue being a mightful artist. He specifies that though he may not be a doctor, he’s dealing with symptoms, one being that bad2tothebone might be the syndrome since he’s off the rails in full flex mode yet still unaware of how much destruction he can create in his unbalance days. Been to many places with a lot of things done in between; still, he doesn’t make attention to himself because the mystery of him is still the high intent he enjoys staying in. Too much weight on his psyche will sometimes drift him off into another place in his head, but because life is short, he doesn’t dwell on things heavy anymore. He’s feeling like an anonymous figure of where he’s at in life since he doesn’t have enough direction, but he’s still living with the knowledge of promising outcomes. I’m seeing more of Quico come out of his preserved shell in these records, and I think this might be one of his most demanding joints to date to showcase his newer emotional takes. The video keeps him in a star-shaped outline with VHS footage of a rodeo appearing in the background that gives it an eccentric view but continues putting him in different lanes from his peers yet increasing his tier to be on top of most when it comes to artistry. 

I’m hoping we can see more of Quico’s content surface throughout the year, it’s been a patient journey being fans of his work, and we’ve been satisfied with what he’s given so far, so we can only imagine what he has in the works for the new year.
