DotdotDotdotDotdot - D (Dot) Ed Ass (EP)

Rappers be having some interesting monikers, but this artist by far takes the cake for the most intriguing cause it's a big reason why I delved into this three-track project. I think the cover art is interesting as well; it kind of makes it to where, if you aren't familiar with Dot like I'm barely becoming as I write this. It doesn't inform you as to what he's all about or what the music is going to sound like; it's that shroud of mystery that could prompt those who don't know to know. Since once you do, you'll have a moment of enlightenment, as well as being thoroughly impressed cause the skill right off the bat will have you like "Bruh," not what I expected!

On "Bruh," we get a perfect mixture of pop esque sensibilities, at least in terms of the buoyant production, but his lyricism is so dense over it. Can't nobody tell him shit about anything he does cause he knows what he possesses is something special. He'd much rather be a little fucked up in the head than to live uncomfortably under someone's thumb, always trying to dictate his autonomy. The wordplay on this track is ridiculous, off rip with "stomping in bullheaded" like what? That's crazy how such a small line is a double entendre; only a skilled MC can do such a thing. The syllables & content is a 2-minute masterclass, but that's not just the only lesson to be heeding in today's session.

On "Dirk," we get what is probably the most warped posse cut you'll ever hear; we get Dot, Cease, Wood & 3Zone$ all sparring with one another while slaying any opponents who may be standing in their way. If you thought the lyricism prior was intense, they up the ante on this one; despite the production being this subdued & that sharpshooter line is one of the coldest I've heard. That shit will, at the very least, graze your ear as his bullets whiz by you. He's just hitting "Licks," robbing these lames so quick that they'll never know what exactly hit them. All in all, this is definitely an artist I'm about to dig deep into cause these three records are all masterclasses in dope lyricism & this production; whoever produced this, bravo, especially if it was the man himself.
