Zacari feat Isaiah Rashad & Buddy - Rainy Day (Single)
The last time we reviewed a Zacari track, it somehow made its way to him, which was amazing so you best believe we were excited when this new single came out, you mean to tell me Buddy & Isaiah Rashad are on the same record as he is? Who doesn’t love when 3 completely different artists come together & somehow mesh together so seamlessly. Zacari takes on a much more futuristically nostalgic sound with “Rainy Day”, probably one of his best vocal performances thus far, he just croons so effortlessly over these nighttime vibes. The addition of the chopped n screwed vocals in the hook is a Midas touch for this record.
Zacari says that he keeps that anger put away in hopes of keeping the raining of pitchforks away from putting out his torch. You ever hear people in this business say things like, it’s a lot easier to get it but a whole lot harder to maintain it? Well on this record, it’s obvious that they’re telling listeners to be about their money, put some aside just in case people wanna act funny. It’s been beautiful to see Isaiah Rashad back, out & about, not only executing long awaited albums but features as well, which I only expect to see more of in the near future after hearing his smooth & subtle performance here. Buddy is no slouch either, each artist bringing a certain swagger to this melting record.
Don’t be too lenient with your money, especially in your relationships, people gonna have to work for this cause if not, they tend to get a little to comfortable & that’s when that entitlement sometimes starts to creep in. Zacari, Rashad & Buddy all don’t have time for any of that, they worked too hard to not be a cut above snakes at any given moment, which, why would you try to bleed a high value man out of his money, you would fail miserably. Zacari is honestly a bit of sleeper artists on the label we all know & love as Top Dawg, we know of him but I feel like not enough people actually know him like that but singles like this would surely turn that around, let’s just hope it’s the 1st indication of more to come!
