Monk Vision Entertainment - Bankroll (Single)
Not only do Monk Vision Entertainment know how to simply have a good time with their music, they know how to grab your attention instantly. Their music just pops like all their lead balloons flying over your head. These guys rap at a very high level, but the charisma with which they carry themselves makes it all flow together so seamlessly. The chemistry between these emcees is explosive; each of them just feeds off of one another, firing off round after round over this insane production. I mean, what is going on with this? It’s a very dizzying sound & coupled with their lyricism, which is ditsy as can be, making it seemingly impossible not to get lost in this whirlwind of wit.
These gentlemen also know how to entertain; just look back at all of their previous visual treatments, they seem always to be having a blast when it comes to creativity. Just like their music is versatile, so are their music videos; they just know how to develop new & original concepts to make their music flourish. With “BANKROLL,” they channel their inner Ghostbusters with a beautiful homage, even with the single’s cover art. The special effects in these visuals are amazing; it’s almost like I was watching the actual film, but of course, a more modernist twist to it. Even the shots where it seems like they’re within a Cash Cube are very impressive & just further emphasizes the lyrical whirlwind they’ve supplied with this record.
I wonder who would pick up if we dial that number in the video description, 1-800-MNK-BSTR. I literally sang the theme in my head as “Monk Busters” when I saw that. It’s little things like that which I find intriguing, to say the least. The costume designing as well, you can just tell so much went into this one piece of art, which is why I don’t understand why there aren’t more views on this. These guys are criminally underrated & I feel it’s about time we start mentioning them when groups are brought up in the conversation. They’ve been doing damage control for a minute now & I doubt this will be the last time they put a stop to these pesky entities.
