Adam René - Pieces (Album)

Starting things off with the previously released "Grown," which honestly should've cleared any skepticisms anybody may have had as to how his music would differ now that he's stepped deeper into his role as a son of God, as well as becoming a father. He already played the previous role, the reckless one, but now he's chosen a righteous path & it's safe to say it's brought him nothing but the utmost blessings, so how can you blame his astonishment at his growth? It's just been incredible to witness all this happening for him. The subtle trap musings on "Holyghost" really touched me spiritually; it's a very meditative number reflecting on his journey thus far. He's been following the light for some time now & thanks to God for always looking out for him. Even when he was setting him ablaze, he understands it was all for a reason. The chopped & screwed switch up at the end only further exemplifies how he hasn't abandoned Texas's responsibility in why he's the man he is today.

That desperation can get the better of a lot of us; it indeed has gotten the better of me, so records like "Desperado" are appreciated as I'm currently going through these emotions, but records like this reassure me that you can't force these things. You got to let it all happen organically, though he could also be speaking to God, at his knees begging for his mercy, falling at his command. On "Moves," that choir at the beginning was such a nice touch that bled into another floor stopping banger from Adam; it reminds me of his flow on "Relax." It's kind of like an updated, more polished version of that record; there are moves to be made, so why not make them together?

On "Nevi's Interlude," we get a glimpse at Adam's skills as a pianist, with his daughter being ever so joyous in the background. It's 32 seconds of pure bliss that bleeds into even more on "Home," it's beautiful that he found a home in these people. The love he has for his newfound family is beautiful to witness & here he's just letting them know that his love is unconditional and understanding the same will continue to be reciprocated. He's really stepped up as a man & gotten the things he truly wanted in life, so why not celebrate?

With a new baby on the way in Salem, to which Adam even penned a beautiful letter to, which is how he chose to end this album, rightfully so. These are the "Pieces" that have now made him as a whole as he's been as of late & it's clear that he will continue to walk down this path of righteousness & continue to make us down here as well as big guns upstairs proud. I would like to end this, though, with some more love for Club Galleria, who continue to create full-circle moments with this beautiful brother of ours & also extend my love to his ministry in Saint Clubhouse. Thank you all for helping spread more of what this world needs in these dire times.
