Pauliiito - In My Element (Album)
"No Panic," Pauliiito is back with another one & let's just say when has he not been in his element, I mean honestly, his drive has ceased to come to a halt, the man is a walking blessing, a Golden God if you will, engaged & now tearing through the streets. Not only on his dirt bike with the Mob right behind him as always, reminding anybody who may have forgot just has lethal his pen his, that he hasn't lost a drip of its poison. He's still adding fuel to the fire, name another this great & in their own lane, making more lanes their own along the way. J Allan, of course, with the daunting production & Lito jumping through its rings of fire so swiftly, he's damn near zipping through them cause why slow down. He's too crisp a lyricist, I swear, the way he incorporates his singing into his flow is so seamlessly executed. He deserves to brag the way he is here cause he still does it with such humility, he doesn't need validation from anybody. He's doing just fine on his own; he isn't slowing down for anybody, especially no police. He's going to get to what's his regardless & sure, there may be a couple of bumps along the way, Rest In Peace to his fallen comrade, but in his honor, it remains beast mode on his helmet, kind of like he's still there with him, protecting him. He, like everybody, doesn't understand why the "Good Die Young" but we sure understand our own mortality, so since it's coming, when it does, he's going to Die Lit, meaning, until that day comes, he's going to live his life to the fullest, the thrill of the fast life is too enthralling!
I love this Lil Wayne homage; the "Block Is Hot" for sure when Lito is rolling through, his bounce is too scalding that any nearby Spalding is about to burst; they damn near Tokyo drifting through these streets, forever "On Go." He honestly not even bragging; he's just simply speaking his truth. He can't help how effortlessly charismatic he is when it comes to how he carries himself, let alone how nonchalant he is when speaking it like it's nothing that big while making boss moves after boss moves. He just has this confidence in his swagger when he's swinging his skills at you with as much gusto as he does it with. He doesn't even need to try; he just is, he's the real deal & you feel that energy the second he's in the vicinity. He doesn't even need to enter the building & you already feel the presence.
I love how easy it is for him to make hit song after hit song but still be rapping his off on all of them, even on auto-tuned numbers like "Los Angeles," where he flexes more of those singing chops of his, he has a lot of soul in his melodic flow that absolutely bleeds through J Allan's production, this could've easily been on their joint EP "Lito's Lounge," his production is always a pleasure to hear, easily my favorite track on the record so far but they all pop, all nine wheelies! He's "Still Burnin'," even when you think shit has cooled down, you thought wrong, his flow on here will have you feeling like you just skid across the hot ass gravel. That shit still burnin' as we speak, his flow is as sharp as those shards tearing away at your skin but don't worry, on "1,000", he'll inspire you to heal up nicely then keep it pushing. It's not like he hasn't fallen before, but it's all about balance & there's no doubt he has it; everything in his life is aligned perfectly at the moment, so let's take a moment with him to bask in it.
Of course, when you're up, it's when the snakes slither back out the cracks of the deadwood but fuck that, you weren't around when it was needed, so you can't be around when you're no longer needed; what kind of sense does that make? Don't get him wrong; it's all love, but he owes you nothing. Still, he also isn't standing in the way of you getting in your bag; you can't come back around to try to place the fault onto him out of mere jealousy. There's no room for "Fake Friends" in his circle, only Day Ones & I love how this is more of an ode to them rather than just the overplayed complaint. Pauliiito only keeps those he can trust around him & there's no way you can infiltrate any part of it. You will fail miserably; any of it doesn't phase him; it is what it is, keep screaming into an endless void. He will keep doing it "Big Time," so take it from him and stop wasting big time already; you can get it too. You just have to do what it takes & it takes a lot & although Pauliiito has come a long way, he's still paving it. He hasn't even reached his peak yet, he still has a ways to go & we'll be right here beside him on his journey, so don't you dare hit the brakes!
