HVN - DRACO (Single)
Since bursting onto the scene with his impeccable debut album “Welcome to Heaven” last year, HVN since diverted away from the heavens to confront a “DEMON,” much to his dismay. Now he’s pulling back up on them with the “DRACO,” & what makes it all the more intriguing is the production. He does the usual trap flow, but couple that with the interesting chimes on the beat & you got yourself another banger of a record to come out of this subgenre of Hip Hop. Every now & then, we get hit with a gem cause not every record with this tone hits this hard.
The flow sounds a lot like Valee on here, which isn’t a bad thing, he’s almost whispering over this overbearing instrumental & it’s that nonchalance that makes it all the more fun. This shit is nothing for him as he fires off from all cylinders, informing you of what’s about to happen as well as his own personal bragging rights. Each line is hitting you with more & more wit as they whiz by you; his monotone flow really makes you focus on what he’s saying. He rhymes “Xo” with “hellhole,” but he bent the word a bit to make it rhyme; little shit like that intrigues me.
He’s clearly a madman judging from the cover art, he just loves to play all over these beats & it seems as if there’s nothing to prevent him from crawling all over the walls as the bullets continue ricocheting all over them. Someone is bound to get nicked by at least one of these bars & I just personally love how he’s inching more towards hell now; it seems with the arrogance of this record. He’s bringing his reign down on the detractors & there’s little to nothing to be done about it; you just going to have to wait till hell freezes over, which it may never.
