Y2 - Triller (Album)

Germany-born, Texas-based madman Y2 just won’t slow up on his prolific nature & insane rhyme style exhibited throughout his expansive run. Last year being one of his biggest, with three impeccable albums putting him back into the forefront of forces to be reckoned with, nobody & I mean nobody sounds quite like him. He continues to flex that fact to ambidextrous heights on his 1st release of 2021 “Triller.”

As repeated on the album opener, this is all just a “Favor” what he’s showing you on here, that being his skill level which he’s proving to you that you’ll never be able to keep up with, maybe you should just throw in the towel. There’s nobody more “Triller” than he is; I mean, who else can come up with rhymes & multisyllabic schemes like “I.T.T.,” “right, ding ding,” “light bling bling,” “Nike-ke,” “Tyson teeth,” etc. That record alone, let alone scheme alone, destroys most rappers like “Graa Graa” the way he’s firing these M16s on all cylinders!

His sound is haunting as ever on “S.L.A.B.,” a paranoid number that finds him forever keeping his guard off-fore anything can pop off. Still, it won’t be his head, he not only puts the God in Godzilla, but he is “Godzilla’s God,” & even when he’s having fun. It’s still daunting on “The Finesse,” these records stay “Boomn” more than Metro, which is precisely where your loved ones may find you if you dare to try to sneak up on such a stealthy figure. If Y2 continues this prolific run throughout this year, he may continue to infect the rest of the industry.
