Baby Aztro - Gravity (Single)
Baby Aztro is a breath of fresh air for fans of this style of Hip Hop. He's already released a fairly hefty catalog, including side projects with his duo-based group Phree Bass Sampulz. He's somebody who should already be on your radar, if not at least in or around the circumference of it. He's back with his latest single, following mid-last year's drop of "Till My Numbers Called," among the many other releases he's done. He's still waiting & is calmly letting the "Gravity" allow him to hold him down over more of this boom bap deliciousness.
His bars come at you like flying saucers whizzing right by your ears, lyrically tap-dancing on Saturn's rings, just playing pool with the planets. You just aren't within his stratosphere; he's so far beyond the solar system, he's mooning the moon, mocking the fact that this is so effortless for him, at least he does a damn good job at making it seem that way, what kind of meteor shower does one have to take to sound this fresh?
Aztro just has this charisma about him; it's bar heavy, but it's not so in your face; it's straightforward listening due to his laidback voice, with the lyrics being everything. He knows how to keep your attention, though. At the end of this, you'll be just like the cartoon on the cover art, which should tell you, if you didn't know by now, that his music requires multiple listens to catch every line that is said. There's never any filler that I can spot in his writing; he holds this Hip Hop down like "Gravity," & let's hope he continues to help the planet heal with his insight.
