KIL - Harvard Square (Video)

KIL ain’t killing any time capitalizing on his stellar debut EP “No Time To KIL,” which I highly recommend. I had to go back cause I was apparently under a rock when he dropped it, so forgive me, KIL, but on the intro to that EP, “Harvard Square,” bro ain’t playing around. His skills are on full display, the soulful boom bapness being the perfect bed for his bars of brash braggadocio. This record is one of those cases where it’s good to have an ego as big as his; he knows he got something unique to offer to those willing to listen.

This release is intelligent rap for the people who actually have the time, let alone mind, to digest it all. He’s come a long way & is just detailing his humble beginnings to his reveling now, those opening lines telling you all you need to know, he worked hard not only at his craft but monetizing it in order to live right near Gucci. We deserve to be able to afford the things that make us go ooh & ahh, but he isn’t going to sacrifice an inking of skill to attain it.

What’s even better about this, besides the song is impeccable, is how he’s showing you where he comes from in the process. The shots of these various locations, which I assume are essential to Cambridge, Massachusetts, let alone hold sentimental value to him. It’s always great when artists bring us fully into their habitat; it makes you feel an even deeper connection to the artist, so make sure to visit these same spots if you’re ever out there & who knows. Maybe you’ll run into KIL; till then, enjoy these visuals & his debut EP & keep your fingers crossed for even more greatness to come in the new year from the newfound, sharp lyricist.
