Naalah - Pothos (Video)
In July, Naalah released her EP “Gemini,” which I spoke very highly of since it took the essential element of her previous project and transitioned it to an awakening of creativity for her. We heard more raps and more poetry that displayed a series of wonderment throughout its 5-tracks. One thing was missing at the release, which was a visual interpretation of a record off the project. Many fans waited patiently to see if this was something that would surface in the future, and sure enough, we got our answer last week when she released the video to her outro record “Pothos” to bear witness to the greatness of it.
She’s caught up among the Devil’s Ivy with someone not necessarily worth her time, so she cuts off what’s left and decides to grow elsewhere in a more blooming space. Sprouting more roses and receiving more sunlight, she feels more enlightened, but why do they keep running across her mind on occasions? She needs to keep it in the past and not let that negativity affect her future. She’s planning for her journey ahead without you in it, so don’t attempt to continue holding her back; she’s on to better things without you. I enjoyed the viewing aspect of the video because it showcases Naalah in an intimate setting, with music being her focus on venting out these raw emotions. She’s in her own world, reflecting all of these experiences for you to stop and listen; she holds nothing back while wearing her heart on her sleeve.
I’m excited to see what the future holds for Naalah; she’s given enough examples of why she’s a genuine and talented artist, so you know from here the sky is the limit for her. Success and nothing less for Naalah, and we hope you enjoy the video as much as we did. Share it around on all social media avenues.
