King Kay - Bluff (Single)
Earlier in the year, Pack Static's head honcho King Kay dropped off the fiery "Shinigami, now he's back with a second offering in "Bluff" that's more congregational than the latter. Real subdued so you can focus more on what's being said, I know it can be hard for you casual listeners to focus when the lyrics came at you rapidly, but Kay knows how to satiate those fans looking for vibes but still keeping it bar heavy like he never fails to do.
He enlists a super underrated producer from here in the city, our very own Primo & he offers the perfect bed for Kay to ride those waves. Dropping his introspective yet witty bars throughout, arranging rhymes that only he can conceive of, "I'm trying to keep it raw, no filter, don't be concerned if I'm a little off-kilter, my head is harder than working with Bob The Builder". Who else thought to rhyme all three of those words together & put a childhood cartoon reference in there & one that nobody talks about, just furthering his uniqueness.
The Pack Static crew has been on their necks; lately, each MC reminding you that it's forever about the lyrics, but they still provide the vibes to keep you interested. Let alone the mangas Kay has created for his music & continues to create, so I say, make like him & embrace these so-called "nerdy" things. He loves this rap shit & I appreciate that because the way he plays with his words is always fascinating to hear. He's carved out his lane & we know that everything & anything that's ever made any impact in the culture has always been different than what's around it & that'll not be commendable.
