The Teeta & Willo - The Seventh Seal (Album)
ot one with his 1st release of the year “The Quarantine,” not two, with its follow up “The Stimulus,” but three, three albums in one year. With this latest collaborative effort with Willo for “The Seventh Seal,” it seems like he may be trying to give someone like Boldy James or Conway a run for their money & there are comparisons stylistically. All 3 are just the only artists this year with three albums & 3 solid ass albums at that.
In just 15 minutes, Willo & Teeta both compliment each other’s styles over beats that I honestly didn’t expect to hear on a project with a cover as such. It’s very minimalist, “Highly Favored,” being my favorite production piece with its jazzy & groovily subdued nature. They list what makes them, them, the highly favored by god individuals that they are, personally & especially lyrically. I’d call this intelligent music to vibe to; it’s introspective but not retrogressive & though they may be stuck in specific ways.
They are never complacent with what they want out of life, a much more reflective vibe than the prior releases this year from Teeta, making this another respectable piece to his ever-growing catalog. Before I close, wait till you get to the most essential record here with “The Delicate Balance,” the vulnerability on that record is painfully tangible & unlike most artists. These two got something to say, it’s up to you to heed it & I’d advise you to do so.
