MC Eiht feat Conway The Machine & DJ Premier - Honcho (Single + Video)
When an OG like Aaron Tyler speaks, you listen & you heed that shit. I swear, whenever anyone from the Griselda crew links with a legend, it's monumental & should be treated as such cause boy do Conway, Eiht & Premier catch countless bodies. What could've easily found it's way on Preemo & Eiht's criminally underrated "Which Way Iz West" elevates that sound to a more combative arsenal on this record.
The visuals are simple, homies in the back, blunt blowin, lowriders in an empty garage, Preem on the ones & two's & a whole lot of street talk that you just have to listen to it in order to feel & I, for one, cannot label this as gangsta rap & I'd encourage listeners not to as well, it's reality rap from two of the realest on both sides of the fence.
If this is the 1st single to the upcoming "Lessons" LP, then man, are we in for some more hardcore hip hop that'll surely satiate any & all lovers of this culture. Even though he from the west, Eiht clearly draws influences from all over but still keeps it authentically west coast to the bone & like I said, clean your damn ears if you aren't listening; this is not for the kiddies, this grown man rap.
