Pat Ron - Trap Ron (Album)
There’s this kind of stigma surrounding the trap genre, even after it’s been around for this long, so albums like this are so appreciated. They prove that you can still deliver top-tier lyricism over trap production.
The opener works wonders with the word “Back,” I’m not sure any other piece of art includes that word more than in this record, “Swangin Swervin” is smooth Texas wood grain gripping feels. “Vegetables” would make the likes of a Smoke DZA proud, almost every track has this haziness to it, I wouldn’t necessarily call it trap in the sense of a genre, more in the understanding of where he comes from with his raps.
Trap Ron consists of a grade A rapping over somewhat Lo-Fi, meditative production. It’s a perfect marriage & the smooth listening he’s crafted here allows you to hear & heed everything he’s teaching you, it’s like he’s using crayons to draw hieroglyphics.
