GuitarEmoji - Drake-182 (Album)

Drake & Blink-182 sums up GuitarEmoji perfectly; the post punk-pop sound is reminiscent of the early 2000’s when bands like Sum 41, Blink 182, the New Found Glory’s & Good Charlottes were really taking over. I’d lump him in with groups like them since this is up there with albums like “Enema of the State” & “New Found Glory” but a way better update on this throwback sound than Vic Mensa’s attempt couldn't do.

This has that rockstar mentality exemplified in full form way more than most rappers these days pretend they are. Guitar Emoji lives that shit they be talking about in the music because post-punk powers pop which is crazy but that's what a beautiful fusion genre sounds like when it's done correctly!

The samples, the content, the music, the charisma, bravado, it’s all here. Not to mention he kind of looks like Lilbootycall & remind me of him but two totally different artists so don’t get it misconstrued. This is more music reminiscent of that teenage angst that took over in the early 2000’s & now is trickling it’s way back into the scene. As long as the result is albums as great as this one, I’m all for the resurgence scratch that we’re all here for it.
