AQ - Bonus (Single)

AQ stays true to exactly who he is on his 6th & possibly the final release of the year; who knows, we still got a few days to go, but he needs a “Bonus.” Let it be a signing bonus, Christmas bonus, whatever; he just needs that extra he’s clearly deserving of with how hard AQ been putting in work since last years debut, “QNY SZN,” which showcased just how fresh an emcee he is with his always crisp delivery & self-defining lyricism.

At first, it’s like we’re about to jump into a poppy/reggae-esque vibe, which still feels like that, at least in the undertone of it all. Once the beat comes in & you won’t be able not to rock back & forth, not just your head nodding, your whole body when he’s firing off about the things that make his life whole. Minus the bonus that he hasn’t gotten yet but soon will if he keeps eating up beats like that shrimp Alfredo he mentions.

AQ is just basking in all his glory, swigging that pineapple Fanta after smoking down that stuffed backwood & hopping in his car only to roll the way off his nimble flows & bars that roll off his tongue. The second verse of this immensely shows just what he’s capable of doing with words & flows. It’s storytelling when he’s guiding you through what it’s taken for him to get this point, being turned on by friends due to jealousy, being shelved by the label. Still, his numbers since have been skyrocketing, so he must be doing something right to get that overdue “Bonus,” so cough it up, or he’s going to come to take it with ease.
