PRINCESSBRI - Sick Of It All (Album)
On her sophomore effort, PRINCESSBRI breaks into her own, offering a more polished effort than 2019’s trap-inspired “Little Baby Bitch” but, what it truly is, is a full dive into another genre of music. This time entirely a rock album that will conjure up that angst we all had as teens at some point; you’ll want to rebel once you pop this in, maybe raid your local Hot Topic, who knows what’ll happen but don’t do that, just perhaps, I don’t know, destroy your room.
That angst is immediately felt on the punky “My World” she’s asking you if you wanna look in & honestly not even giving you a choice as she pulls you right into it. Soon, the urge to headbang is too hard to resist, “you should be happy with what you have,” but yet we are not complacent & when we don’t get what we want. We tend to lash out at others, possibly self destruct & that’s what she makes you feel as if you’re imploding from within. Just crumbling down emotionally, struggling to restructure your brick & mortar, but “In The End,” was it even worth it? What good does any of it do for you, something you’ll think about as you reflect upon your decision making.
Whether spitting in the face of carelessness on “U Don’t Care,” learning to live with the pain of being wrong on the growing pains ode “Girl That U Used 2 Know”, addressing being an outsider. A societal black sheep on the vagabond inspired acoustic number “Rejects,” allowing no one to get in between her relationships on “They Don’t Know,” cracking under “2 Much Pressure”, “Again and Again” just having to be “Sober.” There’s still a tinge of cynicism being an underlying tone throughout the project, fittingly titled “Sick of It All,” as she’s certain we all must be. Still, it’s all in our heads; we must do as she has & follow our hearts & not be sorry for who it affects along the way, especially if they’re deadwood we’ve been needing to cut out as I’m sure all of us have been doing, all in all though, this is a flawless album, highly recommended.
