Liveola - Remote Controller (Album)
A veteran of the San Antonio music scene, Liveola has not fucked around one bit with his consistency this year, this latest release marking his 4th release in 2020. Like the previous 3, he’s no slouch lyrically; he got battle bars for days, but mixing them in with this sense of introspectiveness that is impossible to ignore; he’s as elite as they come.
He starts with a brief intro titled “You Got Nothing On Me” then immediately validates that with his seamless “Controller Freestyle,” chock full of knowledgeable bars & wild syllables. There are so many metaphors on here; it’s damn near disrespectful & we barely started, so you already know what to expect jumping into it; the rest of the album is full of that same energy.
He’s clearly in control of his own show, but this isn’t just any show; he’s as real as it gets & raps with the conviction of a man with experience. He shares his wisdom while also letting you repeatedly know that you can’t touch his pen, the skill is so palpable & the spirit of San Antonio is exuded effortlessly throughout. On a final note, these are tapes you’ll have to go back & dissect cause you might be too young or too slow to catch all of what he’s saying, a true lyricist’s lyricist, behind a different set of bars now.
