Reek & Sage - Believe In The Tree (Album)
Almost a year after 2018's excellent "Chapter 2wo", our favorite tag team is back with the 100% THC laced "Believe In The Tree".
Reek is here to put up a smoke screen but ironically, he isn't blowing smoke about his undeniable skills as an MC, you know damn well the only smoke emitted... need I say more?
He is in tip top form, gracefully walking along cumulus clouds throughout the projects' entirety.
Sage's production is more elegant than it's ever been, nobody can match Reek's flow and style better and nobody else should even try.
For the newcomers, this isn't just your standard "weed rapper" album despite what the cover art might make you think, everything from perservering despite the many people who want him to fail while letting them know they simply aren't on his wavelength and never will be ("Wings", "Jigga Man", "Y U") to his admiration and pursuit of beautiful women
("925", "Vision of Love" - Levi once again serenading the ladies so effortlessly) to just straight up, smooth ass playa talk ("Face", "P") there's alot of gorgeous lyricism that'll surely leave the listener levitating.
After "Wake Up" fades out, we know this dynamic duo is not done, content with life but nowhere near complacent artistically, musically and just personally.
A short but exquisite dosage of meditative sounds and well-crafted lyrics make this one invigorating listening experience and after it's said and done, you too will agree when I say that Reek & Sage are the musical equivalent of the term "tree".
