Zzay - September Song (Single)

Our new favorite west coast rapstress Zzay released a passionate visual at the end of last week titled "September Song." It speaks of the oppression that most people of color are going through more frequently. Still, it focuses on one race in particular: black men and women who struggle with the persecution from those in charge like crooked cops & a corrupted system that is negatively impacted by racism that they endure daily. It's something I can't even fantom to know the hatred they go through.

Zzay spits wickedly truthful rhymes that dwell into this seemingly stern production that helps elevate her powerful penmanship on the horrors that we hear and see in the amoral news as frequent. She's on the outside looking in as Zzay knows she will not face these similar adversities, but that doesn't mean she can't stand up and fight for what's right and make sure her voice is heard in cautious warning to those from the other side's tyrannize intent. Her mind is wearily thinking of the world's systemic chaos, and she hopes answers can be discovered as she prays for days to be gone with hatred. As she is settled in her mind that can be a safe haven or diabolical urge, she finds peace right now since this is all she has to maintain sanity. Can't lie to you all; I was deeply touched by the record here as you can hear the pain in her voice and see on her expression, she states that she sees the light dawned on by the Holy Spirit to keep her safe, but to many, that light won't show and it hit hard.

She is fighting for a cause with meaning, and I stand by it; we hope the voices can expand throughout the world and shed some deserve positivity in it, which the world needs most at a time like this. This recent single will be found on her upcoming EP "'Mirage" with no said release date yet, but be sure to cop the record via her Bandcamp and keep the views going up on the latest visual.
