Celebrating The One-Year Anniversary Of The DIOS Shop In Houston
Over the weekend, Houston's own DIOS (Did It Ourselves) clothing celebrated their first-year anniversary of the shop opening up. The store has been a massive success from seeing day one supporters and the numerous fans of both creatives catalogs come out and show love on every drop they do. It's been a great few years for both founders Le$ & Jorgey, who have been doing great things for a while now. First, starting as long-time collaborators to turning their creative minds into something that people can wear and dress to impress in style.
From the shirts to hats to the bag and even some plushes, DIOS has now been a Houston hot spot to anyone visiting the space city during vacation or just rolling in to see the Texas culture. They've seen countless legends appear through their door like Bun B, Slim Thug, Bo Bundy & more and even some prominent out of towners like Freddie Gibbs & Larry June blessing the streetwear. I got to chop it with both founders where they share nothing but appreciation to the people that have supported their journey. Founder Jorgey told us seeing the shop's success in one year is a great feeling, especially those that have seen the come up him & Le$ have done to now successfully say they reach a year of being in business where it's been booming. Another thing he talked about was the fact that he's seen the brand show out in different states whenever there tagged on social media. Which seeing the DIOS logo miles away from Texas is huge and it means the world for them both to know the rest of the world is noticing. We also chopped it up to see if another DIOS shop was in the works one outside of Houston which they don’t have plans at this moment. Yet, because the brand has been seeing plenty of support it is something they are not opposed to doing when the time is right. Last thing we talked about was one of their most sought out items which was the recent drop of their June 27th plushes that showcase a SLAB with the trunk pop up playing the medley to June 27th Freestyle which is just the most Texan thing you can see and have. He talked about it being an idea that came into fruition pretty quickly where the idea of music being produce out of it was a highlight of their thought process that made it a must-have item for any fans of the Texas culture.
Cheers to DIOS for crossing the one-year mark and I can't wait to be back in the H next year to celebrate the second anniversary. Of course, we are also always excited to see what they have in store (literally) since some of the designs are crazy insane. If you haven't copped yourself any DIOS product, the link to their site will be below and if you visit Houston, make sure to take a stroll on to 4114 Fannin St and get you some merch. If you don't walk in wearing DIOS; you leave out wearing DIOS.
