Early Review of Griselda Film “Conflicted” (No Spoilers)

THIS IS NOT SHOTTAS, THIS IS NOT STATE PROPERTY, THIS IS NOT DEAD PRESIDENT, THIS IS NOT MENACE II SOCIETY, THIS IS NOT NEW JACK CITY, THIS IS NOT PAID IN FULL, THIS IS NOT BELLY...THIS IS CONFLICTED

Friday night, I got to peep the early viewing of Griselda's first feature film, "Conflicted." with ThatKidCarter. The story was directed by AK Reed (Amire Kenneth Reed) & written by Deuce King, the main protagonist in the movie. His name in the film was Hunter, who is recently freed from doing a bid that kept him in prison for four years, which is where we get to see the start of his ongoing story in life where he wants to change his street ways and do better in his environment. The story continues throughout into possible meanings of brotherhood, regret, love & envy.

The plot is moved well throughout the film, with each actor and actress's character-building up, where we get to learn about them through the story. The film is devised to keep you thinking and seeing how a man cannot leave what is inevitable in his conscience space, but he tries, and you'll see what he goes through to balance the ups and downs. Without spoiling the film, I will mention that I can see the movie meant a lot for Griselda to have the film shot in their hometown of Buffalo and have most of the cast filled with affiliates & members of the triumph record label. Like any first films, there are flaws in the movie that people will pick at it to downplay the movie, yet that still shouldn't ruin your experience of watching it yourself and making your opinion about it.

The hard work and dedication they put into making this film are monumental, and I know if a follow-up were to happen, you'd see it capitalized on the success of this one here to continue their catalog of being one of the most successful labels in the industry. Much respect to Benny The Butcher, Deuce King, Westside Gunn, Adiyon Dashalon, and the rest of the cast + crew, who did such an incredible job making this film and bringing the raw nature of this storyline to fruition. It's being held as a new classic to the street cinema, and I think it's on the brink of making that exact recognition for being true. The movie was released for the weekend, so no telling if it'll be back anytime soon or could be gearing up to have a worldwide release for purchase or hard copy. Be on the lookout for more announcements to the surface, and be sure to share the word about this hood flick.
