Mateo Sun - Told Ya (Video)

Earlier in the year, Mateo Sun had dropped his self-produced EP titled “I Call You Sun,” with many fans anticipating possible visuals from the project to run up the views on hopefully. As it so happened, their wish got granted as we got to see the visual treatment to his record “Told Ya” earlier this week which has Mission City behind the lens, placing it towards the front seat of the whip. At the same time, Mateo steadily runs up the raps to echelon peaks in his newest video.

When we previously talked about his EP, I mentioned the highlight of this record was hearing Mateo sway from his soft-pitched rapping, almost like he’s whispering to the beat then shifting over to his aggressive demeanor with more profound energy in his voice. They are both signature sounds of Mateo Sun we’ve come to expect but to hear it mash-up so well is a different journey. Mateo’s ballistic nature to be up & directed with the flow is still lethal to this day; he’s able to construct a hefty set of bars in his repertoire that’s hitting with precision on all cylinders. The video presented by Mission City got Mateo sitting larger than life in the release; he’s dripped in a Burberry tee with shades across his eyes, showcasing his witty self in the cut. It’s a laid-back scenery for Mateo Sun, cruising through the release in prominent fashion.

We’ve seen Mateo Sun with performances & features recently; no telling yet if anything on the solo tip has been recorded, but we're sure it has; we know better to never count him out, especially in the 3rd & 4th quarter of the year.
