Van Buren Records - Lil Haiti (Video)
Two weeks after releasing their visual "Relax," Van Buren Records decided to double down on the success by releasing another video to a record from their "Bad Press" album. This time they gave track three off the project, "Lil Haiti," the visual treatment to expand the rise of attention that the collective has been getting these last few weeks.
Simon Morrison is behind the lens for this directorial video that brings to life the record in such an astounding way. Waking up in the morning contemplating the bigger picture on what's right and wrong. The hook is so rhythmic that you can hear it channeled in all the verses you hear from each emcee. Meech BOLD is just potent with the wordplays in his verse, down & out he's been just trying to make the paper. Robbing season is upon those with loot to grab, and he's out with his hands & any weaponry needed to get the bag for the night. Luke Bar$ got other plans; he's grinding day to day but may not be enough to survive. A mental breakdown will be the root of evil for him if he continues working these 9 to 5, and he knows through the struggles, something will work out in the end. The hook is hitting more and more every time we hear these battled rhymes; Lord Felix combines his struggle in home life with those working hours in the studio just trying to get it right. You can listen to the passion for the art just like you do from the previous two and, of course, from the anchoring Jiles does on the record with his brash nature of the street life. Cold & collecting dollars to keep his pockets deep with cheddar. He knows the ways of this culture from tales told by THE LOX. Big dreams with big purchases in his mind for the grind, and he's bout that paper with consequences necessary to get it. The triumphant will to make it out with obstacles in front of them is what I enjoy hearing; the collective always amazes me with how much effort they put into their pen game to make records like these memorable for a listening experience to enjoy in rotation.
Back-to-back visual releases with all exceeding past 1K in views in just a short amount of days; what is next from the collective. We know whatever it is, it's going to be pristine with bars and come along with well thought out visual display to go along with it. Until the next release, we recommend that you run up the views on the visual and share it around on all social media avenues.
