Gio Genesis - Wither (Remix) (Video)

I was first introduced to West Plains native Gio Genesis through his feature on Lacey Jackson's "Forever Loading" album on a track titled "The Light." His crooning played a considerable part in creating the soundscape ambiance for the record, and I immediately knew I was hooked to his zestful sound. It wasn't long after that a video clip on Twitter would make its daily rounds to showcase Gio Genesis's remix of Frank Ocean's ballad "Wither" off his Endless project.

There are not many times where I prefer a rendition over the original, but here I got to make an exception since Gio's bravado vocals gave the record a new essence. It's as if the new track evolved out a whole different sound and is now coming in waves due to his majestic tone. The track by Frank was already held to a high standard for fans like myself and now having these impressive sequences to continue the flourishing vocals with a visual interpretation of the record from Gio only certifies his creativity & artistry to be beyond echelon heights. He has a confession to make and knows this won't be easy, theirs pressures in everything we do were just human, and while some of it can make it feel helpless or unwary of what comes from the response, we still move on forward. His message is profound, and the way he conveys it is compelling; you can hear the emotions roar with every line he states, which already gives you a glimpse look of his unique stature.

I think Gio Genesis will be an artist who will grow to do significant things in the future, his talent is put on display here, and he's just blessed the masses with giving us enough of him to become new fans. He will be an artist that I will keep him close on my radar to get more content from him to showcase on the site.
