Iman Nunez - Six (Video)

Recently I was introduced to Iman Nunez by way of Time Music Group, who had shared with us on IG a visual snippet titled “Six.” The release was a rollout to establish the new name for his YouTube series, previously known as #QuarantineFlows but now would move forward as #PHASES. The series was to showcase a visual representation of the recordings he was working on while quarantining in the process. The viewings gave you an intimate insight into how he enters a record while displaying his versatile rap ability to connect with his viewers during this time where shows are not at a high possibility. He’s taking lemons and making lemonade with what he has, and he’s doing an incredible job of keeping his success pace up to par.

What caught my attention to his “Six” release was his timely mannered composure on how he could construct a series of prodigious bars while staying still in the process. Now I’m sure this could be some editing in between, but if not, it’s an impressive take to display his rigorous style. The come-up story is always a good one, and with the release here, we get to be familiar with Iman to see his struggles turn into success. Those who doubted him are wishing to be on his winning team now, poetry stricken on how these verses are coming out of him that is more potent than all the dopamine that’ll lift you higher than any trees. That’s a vicious line, and it had me running back to rewind a few times, but this is what is expected with the pedigree of Iman’s pen game, he’s able to take his time in beating down the beat savagely. At the same time, he gives it more life with a combative rhyme scheme that is treacherous to anybody going against him. He’s invested himself when nobody else did, and that’s the immersive dream that talented artists use to motivate them. He had no eyes looking into his content before but rest assured he now got all eyes on him like Pac in 96.

I can honestly say I’m a new fan of Iman Nunez, I’ve had time to do my research on his catalog, and he’s been doing this for some time with the growth of sound expanding by each release. I’m sure 2021 will be another successful journey for him, and I hope we can help keep the support going for him.
