Hus Kingpin - Portishus (Album)

Hus Kingpin was a quiet storm for 2020 with back-to-back hood classics with “Threesome" & "GunPowder" including his Roc C collaboration EP “The Hidden Painting”. These projects were praised for being a dominant deliverance to rap with its street economics and lyrical aggression folded through both tapes that held Hus to a tier among greats before him. His first release of the new year, "Portishus," is in rare form with the bravado combination of English psychedelic brand Portishead mixed with Hus's haunting ability to give you the streets undying effect of gritty & realness. The album's structure sound will have the weak-hearted feeling ill and keep the cowardly type in the shadows when this album lurks through the world's concrete jungles.

Like many listeners, I was caught off guard with how many records were on the project. I would be in a heated mood if a fair number of these tracks were decent, but that's not the case here since everyone joint is necessary to get his stovetop cooking on and keep the product serving for the listening fiends. The salient style he progresses throughout the album can start from his intro track "Who Made You Look." The record samples LL's Who Shot Ya," where Hus could be continuing the title after the fame hook of Nas's "Made You Look," and just like two legendary emcees, Hus isn't here for the warnings no more. He's here to shoutout to the masses that he wants the smoke. Hus Sharkpin smells the blood in the water, and you here for feeding time, no need to backtrack, your in the lion's den now, so prepare for mealtime because your now food in his predatory chain. Other joints off the album like "The Gram Tape" & "Kool Keith" give you more endurance of how his lyricism plays a considerable part in his craft. He's able to construct a whole heap of wordplays and storytelling abilities that can haunt your nightmare if you're squeamish. This project is all hits, no misses, I can't even fantom how much heat is being applied to you rappers right now, Hus got this on lock, and the entirety of this project is just forthcoming to know his wrath is being averted onto you rap frauds. Tracks off the tape sound like heaven's gates open up with a flood of majestic waves thrashing from side to side. Simultaneously, these hustler's anthem and poetry are relayed out in passionate senses that are barred off into a plane of existence that makes this project sound like Atlantis is surfacing again. The wave is upon us people, and please don't drown in it. The project is coursing through your veins off first listen, and you'll see the greatness appear in front of you with audio high that will channel your vision to see the valiant sounds of Hus Kingpin.

I'm excited to see what 2021 has in store for Hus Kingpin, this project is an incredible start to sinister catalog workup, and it's only up from here. Be sure to get hooked to the wave sounds here by getting familiar with Hus Kingpin and make sure to share it around on all social media platforms.
