Huey Briss - Flowers Before The Grave (Album)

During the weekend, we were introduced to Long Beach native Huey Briss by way of his latest album titled “Flowers Before The Grave,” where the title & cover art intrigued me enough to sit down with it for my weekend. In mere minutes with the project, it became apparent that I’d been sleeping on the Grace Park lyricist where I needed to step on the gas to get his content posted on the site so that our viewers could get to noticing this remarkable talent for themselves.

The intro to the album sounds off as the voice of his daughter is waking up Huey; where he then looks up to the bright California sunshine to share a glimpse of “God Vision” by having us witness in explaining his prominent come up, the lifestyle of Los Angelans being so much better than most and what a daily routine can look like for him basking in the glow of the west coast weather. Huey’s follow-up record “Six Figure” details people pocket-watching his funds & hating on the amount of dead presidents he brings to the bank. When he started getting money rolling in, he cashed out on his wanted expenses and then sat comfortably, paying no attention to the hate from the opposition. From the cool breeze melody of “Plays Off Ocean” to the chilling, fast-paced tempo of “Avirex Leather,” Huey Briss is consistent with eminent power in his flow & the ability to create a vivid tale of his life in the clouds above the listeners to look up and see his bright aura light up the west coast skies. The project wholeheartedly consists of immaculate raps over some of the worthy impacted productions that help paint his story to the masses of people who may not be familiar with his work. Laced with a prestigious pen for the luxury things, Huey Briss doesn’t waste any time to convince you of his worth to music; if anything, he holds more weight in it than your favorite rappers you hear on the radio. His form of raping is music with substance and consciousness; he makes you think not like an underachiever but as a champion. His goal is to make sure you hear victory in his voice to succeed on your own accord to be in a similar position to him.

In the days leading to the project, Huey had been dropping visuals to tracks off the album, including the following days after tot had surfaced. The videos have had their fair share of views, with much more to come throughout the remaining days of the month. Expect much more to come out, but in the meantime, be sure to begin getting familiar with Huey Briss by checking out his latest album and sharing it on all social media avenues.
