Donov3n - Still Gon Slide (Video)
Taken from last year’s opus “3am & You’re Still Here”, Donov3n blesses us with the visuals for his most popular track to date! The record itself is one of most passionate tracks you’ll ever hear. He’s struggling to cope with the fact that she’s no longer as available to him as she once was, we can only surmise the reasoning as to why that is but, as far as he’s concerned, she’s fronting about the whole situation. She clearly still has a connection to him, sure, maybe her feelings aren’t as fervourous as his but she knows damn well he’s the best she ever had & possibly ever will. He’s desperately hitting her line for a response & follow through, though it’s seeming more & more like a shot in the dark the further he presses.
Paying homage to Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Mr. & Mrs. Slide sound off on one another, literally. The visuals begin with the two seemingly enjoying dinner though the tension is beyond felt. You can see it in their facial expressions, his being suspicious & hers having this sneaky, underlyingly deceitful look to it, almost like she’s gaining pleasure from the toxic dynamic at play here, so much so that she purposefully drops that wine bottle to get him to drop his guard but he’ll be damned if she gets the drop on him. The two at war throughout the night, surprising that nobody alerted authorities, probably used to it like oh, that’s just Mr. & Mrs. Slide, up to their usual shenanigans, they’ll make up by morning & that they do.
Of course, the God Trent Owens is the man to bring these visuals to life, his name is behind all the best music videos. He seriously made this feel like we’re watching the actual film, with Donov3n & the goddess JC Tranquility both showcasing their acting chops. I must say, my heart dropped as much as his when she pulled out the shotty, the slight rumble effect when she fires away is a nice touch! We also get blessed with some behind the scenes in the last half of the visuals, where we get to see all the fun that goes into creating these timeless pieces of art. It almost kinda plays like the credits at the end of the movie, sometimes you get some extra clips during the credits so you’ll definitely wanna stick around once the film is over!
