BabyRay - Let You Go (Single)
Yesterday was a streak of introduction for us to get familiar with new artists that all happened to be women, and the last one of the day that came my way was BabyRay. The rising Toronto artist caught my attention by way of her single titled “Let You Go,” that’s was heavenly sung and told the story of heartbreak and wanting to leave but still holding on to past feelings. It's a relatable record that I’m sure many people have dealt with before, and hearing it from another perspective will help with the coping process. We all love, but sometimes we lose it, and it is hard to find it back; ballads like this guide us to one day find it again.
Up all night thinking, we do not fit together. She can’t live without you, but she’s done dealing with the hurt & lies. You drive her crazy, and she’s fighting with her brain to let you go, but you are the only one she wants. Night after night, you broke her heart, and while she gives you chances to make it right, you stab her in the back again. She’s sick and tired of dealing with the grief, so watch her go and try not to make the situation any harder for her. She’s done fighting and arguing & now, she needs to let you go so she can find her future again. BabyRay sings out her woes and frustration in the track, her heart sings of pain, and it’s just pouring out of her. She’s been broken, and she’s just looking to put back the pieces and start anew. It’s hard to move on when you spend so much time trying to create happiness for yourself and someone else and then watch them take it for granted. BabyRay does an excellent job in channeling her emotions and presenting in this release for us to swoon over. She also dropped a visual for the record that has her donning a red dress with a mic performing the record, while other shots have her surrounded by wilderness to regain her freedom again. It’s a unique track that will tug at your heartstrings to the very last pull.
I saw not long after the track came out that BabyRay followed up the ballad with another single where it’s a more hip-hop-esque vibe to it. I’m sure this won’t be the last time we feature BabyRay on the site; we’re looking forward to keeping her on our radar for future releases. Be sure to check out both the track & video here while sharing it on all social media avenues.
