JMAC the Dragon - The Human Element, Vol. 2 (Album)
If you haven’t revisited the first Human Element installment then now would be the perfect time to refresh your memory on the impeccable work he did, so as to hear the growth now that we’ve been blessed with the second installment! Hearing Navi before the beat drop on this onslaught of an intro lets you know that, Hyrule’s hero has come to reign supremely over the enemies, himself included cause we do tend by our own worst at times of adversity. You have to appreciate the self reflection coupled up with the elite level lyricism, he doesn’t spare the bars in order to get a little introspective, proving to anybody who might’ve assumed beforehand that, he was just a “rappity rapper”, whatever the fuck that is, that he’s just an ever evolving MC.
Installments within installments, bro just be double entendre-ing just cause. Here we get another penny for our thoughts, where we find JMAC delving deeper into his psyche, as well as his heart. It’s beautiful hearing him take accountability for his own missteps in life, speaking on everything from his financial issues, as well as his relationship issues, two things a lot of us can relate to, I certainly drew correlations from his situation. His heart is slowly coming in sync with his mental state, the level of emotional maturity he’s rhyming with is so impeccable, not to mention the head nodding production. On “Purpose”, he’s calling out the many societal ills a lot of us suffer from but maintains his spiritual faith that, there is peace to be found within the struggle. But it’s not only his struggles he’s speaking on, he’s always empathizing with what others go through, especially our women, it’s truly sickening the things they’re forced to endure & even worse when we realize our complicity in it all so I really appreciate him urging us to follow suit, that’s a true leader.
You already “Know Wassup” with the Dragon, he can be in hibernation & still be breathing fire on these beats, introducing us to other very talented MC’s like Darx, who waxes so eloquently alongside his brother, you can just feel the mutual respect between these two & it’s clear they go way back. The wild card within this project, “Keep it a Stack”, finds him being honest with himself about his own faults & mistakes he’s made navigating through this life, touching on his insecurities in such raw & seething fervor, his passion is fiery as he’s delivering these personal anecdotes. The production as well sounds like the evil spirits trying to consume him & pull him back down into the abysmal but there’s “No Discussion” he wishes to have with them, he’s not bargaining with them & with the help of Aye Cue, he pulls himself out of it. The only way he has left to go is up, he’s been through hell & back trying to find “Heaven”, knowing that he’s doing his best to live righteously, repenting when necessary & somehow, despite all the fire he’s treaded through, doesn’t seem to have lost sight of the godlinesses that’s been within him all along.
