Denzel Stone & Treylen - 3 For $1.69 (EP)

Treylen & Denzel Stone decided that now would be the time to bless his fellow Hood Hippies with 3 new tracks, all for the low low price of $1.69, no tax included! Trey has been relatively quiet this entire year so it’s nice to end the year with some new sounds from him that are hopefully indicators of what’s to come from him, as well as his camp of elite spitters come 2023. Opening up with the previously released posse cut “Top Chef”, he proves why his team is here to slap MC’s into that personalized cutting board of theirs & cut into them with their seamless flow of bars. The chemistry between all these MC’s is more than felt as they effortlessly rip through this beat. Even the hook itself is catchy as hell, which shows that they can do more than just rap with the best of them.

Denzel Stone said to do it one take so that’s exactly what Treylen is about to do as he bounces throughout this beat ever so buoyantly. They call upon Dru to slide through as well with his own unique style of rhyme. The 1st part of this production finds them ripping through it effortlessly, they could give a fuck about lists or any of the other byproducts of this game, they just came here to smoke, vibe & prove how easy this rap shit is to them. Denzel’s production is the perfect bed for Treylen to spit his “HiPPiE FLOW” over. The second portion of this beat has a more groovy feel to it as they showcase that they are more than capable of being infectious when it comes to the rhythm & even the vocals!

Ending this 3 pack on a high note by reminding listeners that they’re dealing with some God fearing men, they call onto Ape $terling to thwart his menacing mystique towards the heathens. It’s damn near a Gospel track but a banger nonetheless that doesn’t come off as preachy whatsoever, though the soul is more than felt throughout their verses & even Treylen showcasing more of his singing abilities. He admits to being a former addict, now reformed & looking to continue heading down this path of righteousness that he’s on, vowing to “STOP SKiPPiN’ CHURCH”, as it’s what his father would’ve wanted from him. Overall, this 3 pack is an exciting entry to his ever growing catalog, though it’s only the start of what’s to come from the Hood Hippie!
