DJSAY - The Hills (EP)

A few days before Christmas, I received an email submission that gave us an early listen to San Fransisco artist DJSAY’s upcoming EP titled “The Hills.” I was unfamiliar with his sound, which intrigued me to tune in before getting prepared to enjoy the holiday festivities where I’m glad I did since the three records making up the EP became a big part of my daily rotation in the evenings ahead where once I got the time to relax and I made sure to begin penning my fascination with the project to let our viewership be aware of an up & coming talent that I know will go far in due time.

The ups and down we endure in our lifetime, we can nickname “The Hills”, DJSAY introduces the thought when speaking on the fine dining experience he’s got to enjoy while basking in the finer thing that life has to offer him. He briefly mentions the stresses that consumed his life, but he would rather speak on his highs and how it gets him thinking about a brighter future. I think it’s safe to say whenever you have an interlude on a project, you know it’s going to be a gem, and “Bloom Interlude” is just that, as he explains the journey of growth he’s been on and finding his wavelength to be different from most while learning the knowledge to help embark on a higher patio in his next steps in life. DJSAY’s ability to be impeccable with the wordplay is astronomical, where he shifts in a slow tempo at moments and then uplifts in a bright, solid rhythm. Speaking of tempo, on his last record, “Reflection,” he gets a bit looser than the previous two records showing a bit of versatility that he can do it all to please an audience and quench his desire to be an artist showcasing his skill set.

Only three tracks and I’m an instant fan; it’s remarkable to see an artist with some much prestigious in his pen give you enough soul to fit perfectly in a short time. I can only imagine what he can do in a full-length project; who knows, it could be something to be seen in 2023. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves quite yet; let his fanbase begin to grow before we get to upcoming releases, which we know will come eventually. We highly recommend getting familiar with DJSAY by checking out his latest EP here while sharing it on all social media platforms.
