Boldy James & Nicholas Craven - Designer Drugs (Video)

One of the standout joints off Boldy James & Nicholas Craven’s “Fair Exchange No Robbery” album recently got the visual treatment during thanksgiving weekend, where The Diggers are behind the lens of the illustrious viewing to the bold & luxurious record, “Designer Drugs.” With the heavens peeking over the drums and loops of Nicholas Craven’s production, Boldy unload a heap of lyricism when speaking plug talks and luxury convos by adding a dash of his melodic tone to the mix while spreading gasoline over the fire and igniting a viewing to let the whole scene watch his come up unfold before them.

Double cup wordplays with the syrup leaking over the suaveness, Boldy James is seen with the wock in his 2-litter Faygo reminiscing of the dope dealing convos that lead him to the lifestyle he currently reigns supreme in. The jazz sample curated by Nicholas Craven is one of my favorites of the year, and adding Boldy discussing the designer vices he’s endured is some of the best types of product you’ll come by in hip-hop. Boldy is smoking and sipping on shit that’s exotic, which means it’s out of your league and out of your price range too. The fan-favorite record is laced with the prestigious pen of Boldy James, who doesn’t fall off the top like promethazine spilling into the bottle. Instead, it settles throughout, and when you pour it, it gets you high feeling his anecdote while feening for the designer antidote. Posted on the block in Detroit, Boldy is leaving trails of the styrofoam cups wherever he roams, which you can catch him pimpin and grinding in the streets while, at the same time, the paper is coming in, feeling like Escobar in the 80s. This shit ain’t nothing new to Boldy to whip up dope this good and serves it to your ears which is what he’s been doing since the “My 1st Chemistry Set” days. Whipping has become multiple meanings to him nowadays; no more stovetop dreaming but instead moving out the dope from the studio to the many listeners who enjoy his lyricism. Boldy has influenced an array of creatives with his art and continues to body every feature and record he does without any hesitation or the need to dilute his style.

Boldy has already spoken on his next project slated to come out in the new year, with the major announcement being that it will feature production by the late great J Dilla, which I’m sure is a huge accomplishment for him. We saw another report for 2023 that Boldy will be hitting the stage in Austin at Antone’s Nightclub on March 13th courtesy of Illmanner Shows, with tickets on sale already, so make sure you secure yours today. Boldy James has had an incredible year along with Nicholas Craven, and we plan to see another follow in 2023, be sure to check out their latest visual here while sharing it on all social media avenues.
